our girlie turned 9 and lots of Studio Calico sneaks!!

***sigh***

if onlt the whole evening could have been this peaceful, lol. the sleepover was a big hit, and this house is still recovering. a few words to sum up the event...

screaming, laughter, drama, insomnia, giggles, games, pizza, Hannah Montana, more drama, refusal to quiet down, resolution and joy.

how does that sound for a wide range of activities?

seriously...every so often we notice things that Allie has a hard time dealing with. hanging together with a group is definitely one of them. she doesn't quite get the concept that when you're hanging as a group, you just stick with the group...no personal invites necessary. so when the group takes off to do something, and she doesn't get a 'personal' invitation to run along, she freaks. we're going with the 'only child syndrome' theory, lol...she's getting better at it, but it still needs some work. there are definite differences we see when she's paired up with girls that have siblings...some positive, some negative. i guess it's an ongoing process, right?! (lol)

the bottom line is, THIS HOUSE IS STILL RECOVERING FROM THE AFTERMATH.

seriously.

we had planned on taking the girls to breakfast in the morning, but had to wake them up at 11...just before their parents came by to pick them up. under the advice of several friends, we decided not to wake them up early, lol. and since yesterday was Allie's actual birthday, we just figured we'd recoup after they left.

sure.

first we had her dance recital pics at 1:30. they look so cute in their outfits...and i love that they can just still look like kids. some of those girls had enough make-up on to rival Tammy Faye Baker...but the hip-hop class keeps it low-key, lol. honestly, half of those girls had more make-up on than i've worn in my entire life! and i know i wasn't supposed to take a pic, but i got this one while they were 'arranging' her group.

so then she asked to go to lunch to use one of her 'brithday' coupons...Steak & Shake, here we come. for some reason, she gets a kick out of flashing that free meal ticket, lol. we assumed we would go home and crash...ummm, no.
she asked if we would take her to the new trail in the MetroParks so she could really ride her new bike. it was her birthday...how could we say no??

so Mike and i walked along behind her...2 miles out and 2 miles back...all on about 4 total hours of sleep. pit stop for a water break...

all in all, in was fun, if not memorable, lol. it was nice that Brett & Deb came all the way out Friday evening as well...Allie still keeps saying that she was so happy to see them. and Brett gave me the new nickname of 'D.C.'...for Damage Control, lol. but i have to stress...we're STILL recovering...lol.

so...on to the sneaks for Studio Calico's JUNE kit!!!

and this one has one of the SC exclusive stamps peeking through...
i did this one last night after Jenn gave me an idea of what to do with that KI lace apple cardstock, lol...thanks Jenn!
this one uses elements of the Main kit only...
and this one is kind of 'busy' for me...but i like how it turned out!

i know that every month there are gals on the boards over at SC that claim the newest kit is their all-time fave, but i have a feeling that the June goodies may outrival past kits and leave them in the dust...lol.
